Who is Akshay Kumar?
Akshay Kumar is a famous Indian actor, producer, martial artist, stuntman, and TV personality who works primarily in the Bollywood industry. He was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India on 9 September 1967. His name by birth is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia but is commonly recognised as Akshay Kumar. He also named by nicknames such as Mac, Akki, Khiladi etc.
After returning to Mumbai, he started teaching the students martial arts. One of his students is suggesting him for role modelling. Akki earns about 5000 rupees for 2 days of modelling, which is more than his one-month salary. Therefore he has chosen to fulfil his childhood vision of becoming an actress. Then he started his journey. He soon received an offer from the film industry following the success of his modelling job.
Khiladi made his first appearance at Bollywood with a minor role in the film Aaj (1987) which is a 15-second role. Akki debuts as a lead actor in the 1991 film Saugandh, opposite Raakhee and Shanti Priya. His second film was Dancer (1991), which can not give him positive reviews. But the breakthrough for his career was Abbas Mustan directed film Khiladi in 1992.
